How Much Does A Real Estate Agent Earn?

The home seller typically pays both real estate agent’s commission and the customary amount is 5-7% of the home sale price.

Here’s an example:

Assume a home owner sells her home for $300,000. She agrees to pay the listing broker a 6% commission or $18,000. If 2 real estate agencies are involved in the transaction, a selling broker and a buying broker, then the commission is typically split 50/50 and each real estate agency earns $9,000.

$300,000 X 6% = $18,000 / 2 = $9,000

In the example above, You Save Real Estate, will rebate 20% of the $9,000 real estate agent’s commission OR $1,800 to home buyers and 25% OR $2,250 to home sellers. We are your source the top real estate agency even if you live in Austin, TX; Las Vegas, NV; or Raliegh, NC.  Get your real estate rebate here.
